Ock Pop Tok (“East meets West” in Lao) was founded to support the women artists of Laos. Needlework manufacturer Semco produced a series entitled “Long Stitch Originals” in 1983. Australian artist and arts writer Sera Waters endeavored to research the historical significance of these textiles. She discovered that the designs were depictions of Australian landscapes and motifs versus the more commonly produced British designs!
