Here’s an interesting piece … this abstract original painting from the 1970s was done on a brown paper bag! The frame that it was originally in wasn’t in great shape, so we took it out and float mounted the piece onto a white Artique mat from Larson Juhl. The final presentation includes a rustic barnwood moulding from Furst Bros’ “Amador” collection, Crescent matting and Tru Vue Ultra Vue glass. by Ellie Compton | Jul 30, 2023 | Featured, Sample Gallery | 0 comments

From 1997-1998, an exhibition displaying work from American landscape painter Thomas Moran (1837-1926) was on display at the National Gallery of Art, the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, and the Seattle Art Museum. This poster advertising the exhibition shows an 1872 painting he did of Tower Falls in Yellowstone National Park. We presented the piece in a cherry moulding from Furst Bros’ “Arborita” collection with Tru Vue Premium Clear glass. by Ellie Compton | Jul 28, 2023 | Featured, Sample Gallery | 0 comments
Tammis Keefe (1913-1960) was a prolific textile designer who created colorful and eye-catching designs for tea towels and handkerchiefs. This particular one is signed as “Peg Thomas,” which was a way for retailers to sell her work when others had exclusive rights to her signed “Tammis Keefe” designs. We archivally presented it as a sew mount onto Artique matting from Larson Juhl with a rustic blue moulding from Furst Bros’ “Picket” collection and Tru Vue Conservation Clear glass. by Ellie Compton | Jul 27, 2023 | Featured, Sample Gallery | 0 comments
