Oscar Fabrès (1894 – 1960) was a Chilean illustrator of children’s books and a commercial artist. He studied art in Paris and settled in New York in 1940. Here’s a plate from a c.1943 copy of “Thumbelina“ written by Hans Christian Anderson and illustrated by Fabrès. We’ve archivally presented the previously matted work in an ivory “coins” style wood profile from Furst Bros and TruVue 99% UV filtering “Conservation” glazing.

“Uprising of the North” is an original 1862 engraving published in Harper’s Weekly magazine. By artist Charles Parsons (1821 – 1910), it illustrates some of the initial events leading up to and during the American Civil War. We’ve archivally displayed the piece in a solid walnut toned wood profile from Studio Moulding, Artique matting from Larson Juhl and 99% UV filtering “Conservation” glazing from TruVue.

Robert Indiana’s “LOVE” design, initially created for a Christmas card in 1965, became a widely recognized symbol of US counterculture that has been reproduced in various forms, including prints and sculptures (yo, Philly)! Here’s an original exhibition poster promoting his late 1960’s show the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark. We’ve displayed the work in our archival and nicely priced “Artist Special” framing package.
