Ryan Ottley (b. 1975) is an American comic book artist and writer, best known for his work on Image Comics’ “Invincible” and Marvel Comics’ “Amazing Spider-Man.” Our customer brought in this c.2006 unpublished art originally destined for the cover of “Invincible #30” they won at auction. Written and illustrated by Al Capp (1909 – 1979), Li’l Abner was a satirical American comic strip that appeared in newspapers across the globe from 1934 – 1977. “Slobbovia” was a fictitious kingdom loosely based on Russian Siberia, with the strip speaking to the political climate of the late 1940’s.
