Born in Montevideo in 1923, Vilaró’s journey began as a printing apprentice and Buenos Aires, and he grew and evolved to become one of Uruguay’s most influential artistic voices. As a founding member of the “Grupo de los 8,” he helped push the boundaries of experimental painting techniques in Uruguay and beyond.
