“Bird Tree” is a 2024 signed and numbered etching by the Danish artist Mariann Johansen-Ellis, featuring a tree full of birds celebrating the return of summer. Etching is a printmaking process whereby a design is scratched into a coated copper plate, which is then submerged in an acid bath, leaving recessed lines that hold ink when printed.
