Woodblock printing was introduced to Japan in the early 7th century from the Asian continent, and was first used to mass produce sacred Buddhist texts. Today, woodblock printing has largely been replaced by modern equipment, but some artists still employ these ancient techniques to create works in a variety of styles. We have presented “Woman Pounding Clothes in a Washtub” in a walnut toned wood profile from Larson-Juhl’s “Ansley” collection, Crescent matting, and TruVue anti-reflective “UltraVue” glazing.
