Swiss-German artist Paul Klee (1879-1940) had a highly individualized style that was inspired by expressionism, cubism, and surrealism. His oil and watercolor painting “Fish Magic” (c. 1925) showed off a mysterious and magical realm where the aquatic, celestial, and earthly realms intermingle. In 2018, Fresh Artists implemented a city-wide program in Camden, New Jersey by giving students gently used smartphones to use as cameras and learn the basics of photography. “Chain and Lock on Fence,” by Alexander C. is one such piece that came from the program!
