Calvin “Cal” Schenkel is an American illustrator, graphic designer, animator and comics artist, specializing in album cover design. Schenkel’s work, an iconic and distinctive in style, is a forerunner of punk art and the new wave era. This is a 13″ X 13 1/2″ signed and dated giclee print from a painting or study inspired by the LP album covers. This particular piece was used for the cover art of Frank Zappa’s 1972 release “The Grand Wazoo.”
