James Baldwin (1924 – 1987) was an American writer and civil rights activist who was celebrated for his essays, novels, plays, and poems. Novels like “Go Tell It on the Mountain” ( 1953), and “Giovanni's Room” (1956) posed fundamental personal questions and dilemmas amid complex social and psychological pressures. “I Am Not Your Negro” is a 2016 documentary film based on James Baldwin's unfinished manuscript “Remember This House.” We’ve displayed a vintage photo included in the film in our nicely priced “Poster Special” framing package.
