It’s not every day that we frame objects like these! Butterfly swords, listed as an “unofficial” martial arts weapon, originated in South China and date back to the early 19th century. We mounted this pair in an archival shadowbox, consisting of a tall black ash moulding from Furst Bros, silver beaded fillet from Roma, Crescent matting, and Tru Vue Museum glass.
