Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954) is regarded as one of the greatest French painters of the 20th century. He began creating collages in the 1940s after a surgery left him physically unable to paint or sculpt. Here’s a reprint of a work offered by Parisian publishers Berggruen & Cie entitled “Papiers Découpés” (paper cutouts). We’ve displayed piece in a dark blue wood moulding from Larson Juhl’s “Confetti” collection and TruVue shatter resistant acrylic glazing.
