Deborah Griscom Passmore and Ellen Isham Schutt were early 20th century illustrators for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Both women were part of a cadre of artists, who specialized in botanical drawings, which accurately depicted the fruits and nuts for farming publications. Their works are preserved at the USDA National Agricultural Library, in the Pomological Watercolor Collection. We archivally displayed these lithograph prints, “Patten Apple” and “Summer King Apple,” in a cherry toned moulding from Larson-Juhl’s “Ansley” collection, museum mounting and “TruVue” museum glazing.
