It takes many, many hours to finish a needlepoint piece.  Do you know how your framer handles the blocking and stretching?  We make sure to do no harm to your work of art, and use only archival methods that are completely reversible.  The block and stretch is done on a 4 ply rag board backed with acid free foamboard.  Dressmaker pins are then used every 1/2″ or so to gently pull the textile into place.  The stretched piece is then placed into a sink mount – basically shimming it into place without the need for ANY adhesives.  The piece is fit and finished, and will last generations!
